Why this course is for you
This course is intended to instruct healthcare professionals on the pharmacodynamics and pharmacokinetics of insulin as well as administration principles and patient education. The 4 hour course is designed to meet State requirements for continuing education.
At the completion of this course the participant will be able to :
- Describe the differences between Type 1 and Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus
- List types of insulins
- Explain patient education regarding insulin
- Describe how each insulin is supplied
- Discuss the indications and adverse effects of each insulin group
- Explain how to properly administer insulin
